Na Pali

The blend of ukulele, slack key guitar, string bass and Hawaiian steel guitar may take you back to an earlier time in Hawaiian music, but each song they play... the lyric, vocal detail, instrumental finesse and honest approach to the song, will remind you of...Na Pali ! Bandmembers Pat Cockett, Carlos Andrade, Pancho Graham and Fred Lunt are joined by old friends Keola Beamer, George Winston, Taj Mahal and Buffy Sainte-Marie, offering up another classic mix of slack key, steel guitar and nahenahe Hawaiian music.
As soon as we started preparing for recording Na Pali, we realized that the group has an instantly identifiable and unique instrumental sound. Since Carlos & Pat both play slack key guitar as well as `ukulele, they switch between songs in a set, and vary styles in delightfully interesting ways.

Na Pali
Like the cliffs whose feet are in the sea but are rooted in the land, Na Pali celebrates connections to the islands, the places that make up our lives and the links to our ancestors. Nominated for four 2006 Na Hoku Hanohano Awards.
